Georgene Beloved Belindy ~
Forward Facing Feet

In mid to late 1940's a "Little" Beloved Belindy is documented as being 15";
made with pale-brown body fabric: outlined nose; muted clothing colors;
shirt-button eyes; four buttons on blouse;
no company markings or body tags.
In the late 1940's to 50's the "Forward
Feet" Belindy was introduced.
She was 15" with front-facing boxy feet, with a medium brown cloth body;
UN-out-lined nose: red blouse, shoes, and bandana; shirt-button eyes;
She had two snaps on the front of her blouse; she had no company markings,
but because of her well-documented and unusual boxy feet, she is readily recognized as Georgene's Belindy.

Great attention to detail has been given to re-
create this adorable
Raggedy Character doll.
I just LOVE these boxy little feet and it is an
absolute joy & pleasure to create and share
this Precious Belindy with others at a more
affordable price!!

I designed this beautiful
handmade cloth doll using my own
pattern...
with an “original” 15” Georgene
(forward feet) Beloved Belindy doll as my
guide!
I just recently acquired an
"original" doll, and was finally able to see
clearly how the infamous little feet were
made. After two "proto-types", I finally
arrived at my own pattern to re-create the doll.
If you have seen the "Originals"
recently on eBay, you know that they are
selling for $900 and up!! So until you can
afford the real thing.........

Belindy's bandana, blouse
and cute little feet are made from top quality
red cotton fabric.
Her blouse is trimmed
at collar and sleeves with lightly gathered
bleached white muslin with a single row of red
top-stitching.
Her apron and pantaloons
are made from the same soft quality muslin
fabric.
Belindy's little red blouse closes
in the front with two hidden snaps, I chose 2
vintage pearl buttons to replace the white
snaps found on the original,(unfortunately,
that style of snap is no longer available).
For her skirt I have chosen a 1930's
Reproduction fabric that is available in either
red or blue print.
I haven't decided
which is my favorite, have you?
"She is the next best thing to
owning an “Original”!
Her sweet facial features
are hand-painted free hand. The paint used
is self-sealing and will never bleed or
run.
Her mouth and eyebrows have
been painted white then out-lined in
black.
White four-hole buttons have
been firmly stitched in a criss-cross fashion
forming an "X" in the center of each eye. And
her little red nose is not out-lined.

Her little 15"
body has been sturdily constructed with only
the highest quality muslin in a rich warm
brown color.
Which is VERY CLOSE to
the color of my "original" doll.
Here she is with my
original doll.
All of my seams
are professionally finished.
The clothing
is first machine hemmed and then turned up
and hand-hemmed.
I design and sew each of my dolls, the same
way I sew my own dolls and those for my
grandchildren.
As I do with all of my Raggedies.... Numbers 1 & 2 are my
"proto-types" and will be kept by myself and
my granddaughter and will not be offered for
sale.

"tush", and comes with my handmade,dated and numbered body-label sewn into the side
seam..... and a hand-made heart-shaped
hang tag (Making them more desirable as collectible
heirlooms).
